A glass, colour changing, sound responsive light with a magical conrol mechanism. The Tuba is made from pressed glass, with the lighting effect created using chip-controlled LEDs.

    Set-up And Position:
  • ;Ideally Tuba should be placed within metre of a loudspeaker to get the best sound-to-light response
  • ;Place Tuba on flat, stable surface - it weighs about 1.5KG
  • ;Plug the power supply to your wall socket and the cable with round plug into your Tuba power socket, which is on the underside of the Tuba

    Operation Of The Mathmos Tuba:
    1. Hold your hand vertically and briefly pass it into the space in Tuba
  • ;Tuba will flash blue to recognise your command to turn on
  • ;Tuba will automatically enter 'Faze' mode
  • ;Tuba will gradually and randomly change colour
    2. Place your hand briefly into the now coloured recess
  • ;Tuba will flash red to recognise your command to move to Music Mode
  • ;Tuba will change colour to the beat in your music or to sound around it
  • ;If the Tuba is changing colour too quickly or too slowly you can adjust the volume sensitivity
    3. EITHER Place your hand briefly in the light spaceTuba will flash blue to recognise your command to change back to Faze mode
    4. OR, Place your hand in the light space for two secondsTuba will flash green to recognise your command to turn off
  • ;You may also enter step 4 direct from step 2
  • ;Avoid touching the back of the opening when activating, as this may mark the product, diminishing the light effect

    Adjusting To Different Volume Levels:
  • ;Tuba can be adjusted to react to different sound volumes. A dial is positioned on the back at the top of the lamp. As viewed from the back, move the dial clockwise to make Tuba sensitive to loud noise and anti-clockwise to make it sensitive to quieter noise
  • ;When you are making the adjustment, make sure you are in Music Mode

    Cleaning:
  • ;Clean the external glass only with a non-abrasive damp cloth with a small amount of detergent
  • ;Clean the internal plastic only with lint-free, non abrasive damp cloth to prevent any damage occuring on the surface
